Try Out Tuesday – Skincare-powered complexion stick

March 26, 2024

Thank you to @iliabeauty and @pinchme for sending me this skincare-powered complexion stick to test out!

“A long-wear, skincare-powered complexion stick that blurs instantly and visibly firms and smooths over time.

This buildable, natural-matte formula melts in and moves with you, staying seamless for up to 12 hours. The potent skincare ingredients firm, smooth, and soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles—for healthier-looking skin with every swipe.

Free of parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, sulfates SLS & SLES, triclocarban, triclosan, and contains less than one percent synthetic fragrance. It is also cruelty-free.”

As you may have seen last week, I reviewed another base product from @ilia ( and was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked with my skin, so I was excited to compare it to another, totally different, foundation formula from the same brand! I have tried a few stick complexion products in the past and often found them too heavy and hard to blend. While this also took a little extra effort to blend with a dense, flat top brush, once worked in, it was exactly as it claims to be – blurring! I also love the semi-matte finish and agree that it can last for many hours, since the first photo was taken almost ten (10) hours after initial application. Unfortunately, I didn’t love it as a concealer because it was slightly too heavy under my eyes and, when used all over my face the first time I tried it, it settled into the sides of my nose – so now I just use less there. Everything layered on top seamlessly and this is a perfect alternative to a liquid for travel, so I definitely see myself enjoying this until it’s gone!
