Thursday Thoughts – L’Oréal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum

April 28, 2022

The hype for the @lorealparis True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum (normally $19.99, but currently on sale for $15.99 at @ultabeauty if you choose store pick-up for your order and use code MD2022, for 1 ounce – was intense, so when I had accumulated enough points and it went on sale, I snatched it up to see if it would work well with my oily combination skin type!

What it claims:
🔘 1% Hyaluronic acid gives skin a hydrated feel & smooths overtime
🔘 Instantly skin looks brighter, even & feels hydrated
🔘 Luminous mineral pigments brighten complexion

My verdict?
I purchased the shade 3-4 Light Medium because I wanted to be able to wear it with freshly applied self-tan and it’s the perfect shade for that! At some point, I will also purchase shade 2-3 Light to use as a mixer with 3-4 as my self-tan fades and on its own when I have no self-tan remaining on my skin. While it recommends applying this product with your fingers, I am not a huge fan of that application method, so I have used both a foundation brush and damp beauty sponge and think both work really well, but I prefer a sponge. For me, the coverage is low-medium, buildable to medium coverage and the finish is radiant. It sits really well on my skin with every primer I have tested it with and has played extremely well with any of the products I’ve layered on top. Since this provides a radiant finish, I definitely have to set my t-zone with a mattifying powder, but once I do, I end up having to blot only once or twice during the day. Even with that happening, I experienced zero fading or patchiness and it never settled into any fine lines or wrinkles. I would say this lives up to the hype and I have a good feeling I’ll be repurchasing this for years to come!

FYI, I receive a small commission when you shop via the link listed above. There is no additional cost to you, but it supports me and my blog and I greatly appreciate it!
