My verdict?
Part of the reason I had yet to buy a kit on my own was because (aside from the fact I own a ton of regular and gel polish that I should really focus my time and energy on) it seemed too complicated. Unfortunately, the instructions located in the kit were not thorough enough to give me the confidence I so desperately needed to start the process. Thankfully they have a YouTube channel and that’s where I found what I needed! The process is actually pretty simple and can go quickly once you get the hang of it. I applied this manicure three (3) days ago and I used three (3) dips into the pot to get this amount of coverage. My only issue, and it’s something I encountered when I got my first and only professional dip manicure, too, is that I get cracks in the polish. As of today, five (5) of my nails have them. I am sure part of that is application error, but part is also probably just one of the downsides of this method. I will enjoy the process of continuing to try to perfect the look, but as of now, I don’t plan to add any powder colors to my collection.
Have you had a dip manicure either done professionally or at home? If yes, did you experience cracking? Or, if you’re a professional yourself, do you know how I can prevent cracking?
