Thursday Thoughts – Makeup Revolution Superfix Super Hold Misting Spray

July 8, 2021

When you spend as long as I do applying your makeup, you want it to last all day! Using a combination of the right primer, foundation, powder and setting spray is how I personally achieve super long-wearing looks. However, even when I find something that works, I’m always looking for the best, so that is why I picked up the @makeuprevolution Superfix Super Hold Misting Spray ($15 for 3.38 ounces – to test out!

What it claims:
๐Ÿ”˜ Weightless setting mist
๐Ÿ”˜ Leaves a ultra matte, shine free look
๐Ÿ”˜ Perfect to use with your favorite liquid, matte, or matte based products
๐Ÿ”˜ Cruelty-free
๐Ÿ”˜ Contains aloe and vitamin E

My verdict?
The mister on this product is excellent. It puts out a lot of product, but in such a fine mist that you don’t have to worry about large water droplets anywhere on your freshly glammed face. It’s also pretty impressive how quickly it dries. The first time I used it, my face looked very (evenly) damp and I was nervous I had read the claims incorrectly. However, give it a minute and your face will be matte, yet still look like healthy skin. I have used this in combination with many primers, foundations and powders and it works very well with most of them. What I found is that, if you are using it in conjunction with mattifying products, it helps keep them working as advertised all day long. What it doesn’t do well is turn a dewy (hydrating primer, glowy foundation, no powder, etc.) face matte and keep it that way – but I am not sure there is any setting spray that can do that. For the price, I definitely recommend this product and will be repurchasing as soon as this is gone!
