Thursday Thoughts – @bareMinerals ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20

April 1, 2021

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, ample foundation samples are some of my favorite free gifts with purchase! Today, I am testing out a very generously sized mini of @bareminerals ORIGINAL Liquid Mineral Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 ($35 for 1 ounce – https://rstyle.me/+roQj8uCpr4bpInHnrwnvBA)!

What it claims:

🔘 The next-generation clean, vegan foundation is made with half the ingredients of other liquid foundations and without silicone, parabens, talc or oil. It instantly minimizes the look of pores, redness and imperfections, and is proven to improve the look of bare skin in as little as 4 weeks

🔘 Light-as-air medium coverage foundation with a naturally luminous finish that provides a no-makeup look and feel

🔘 It wears all day without clogging pores, causing breakouts or settling into lines, while mineral-based SPF protects from damaging UVA/UVB rays

🔘 Available in 30 shades that flatter every skin type and tone

My verdict?

I used the shade Neutral Ivory 06 and that’s described as made “for very light neutral skin with a peach hue.” In the swatch, the shade looks quite yellow, but I made it work for me. I have used this on several occasions already and am quite perplexed by what I have experienced. The first time I wore it, I was obsessed. The blend, the way it made my skin look, the longevity – all were fantastic! Unfortunately, the three (3) times I wore it after that, using most if not all of the same products in conjunction with it, it was hard to blend, made my skin look dry and got cakey in some areas throughout the day. I have many foundations that perform well no matter how I apply it, so, because of that, I won’t be purchasing the full size.
