After all of the crazy colors and finishes I’ve been wearing on my nails lately, it seemed like the right time for a palette cleanser! Today, I’m reviewing the @essie Expressie Quick Dry Nail Color in Buns Up (normally $9, but on sale for $7.65 when you use code VIP at @macys for .33 ounces – https://rstyle.me/+LBDSJrc2bNGYI2V63lEC4A)!
What it claims:
๐ This shade is described as a “light beige nude”
๐ One-step color and shine that dries in about a minute
๐ Angled brush for self-application with both hands
๐ Unconventional, trans-seasonal and fast-drying nail polish colors
๐ Made in the USA
๐ No base or top coat needed
My verdict?
I love this color and it was exactly what I was hoping for when I decided to do something a bit more subtle on my nails! The packaging is sleek, the brush is fantastic and the formula is very good! I got full opacity in two (2) coats and it lasted perfectly for almost a full week (however, I did use both base and top coats, so that may have played into its longevity). I did buy another shade when I purchased this one, but two (2) things will keep me from buying any additional colors. First, the price per ounce, when not on sale, is quite high. Second, as of right now, going forward, I really want to spend most, if not all, of my nail polish budget on indie brands. That isn’t to say that I wouldn’t recommend this if you love the shade and/or collect @essie, but I just won’t be adding any of them to my collection in the near future.
