The more and more into makeup I get, the more and more I look to challenge myself. Eyeshadow has been one of those categories that I didn’t invest too much time into and it showed. So, I made it a point to try new things and watch more tutorials, but now that I’m doing that, more than ever, I want the looks I create to last! In the past several months, I have been testing quite a few eyeshadow primers and the @ultabeauty Matte Eye Primer ($12 for .3 ounces – https://rstyle.me/+gjln5ONEPY2dEtu-v3qWdQ) is definitely among the most affordable, so I crossed my fingers that it would work well!
What it claims:
🔘 A must have product for a crease free look that lasts all day
🔘 Use this exclusive eye primer under eyeshadow to prolong wear and eliminate creasing
🔘 Can be used with virtually any eyeshadow formula – powder, gel, mousse, loose pigment, you name it
🔘 Paraben free, oil free, fragrance free, and sulfate free, vegan
As someone with oily eyelids where eyeshadow constantly creases, a matte eye primer is exactly what I needed and I am so happy I found such an inexpensive one that works really well! I have worn this on multiple occasions underneath a variety of eyeshadow formulas and finishes. Each and every time, my eyeshadow blended on top of it like a dream and the creasing I normally experience was drastically reduced. I also wore it on one eyelid, using concealer on the other. The difference was incredible. The eyeshadow was a bit patchy on the concealer side and had faded and creased much more than the side I primed with @ultabeauty’s Matte Eye Primer. The only issue I have with this product is the “shade range.” There’s only one. Now, maybe it works with all skin tones because you’re covering it up with color? But, if not, they need to expand their offerings.
