Here’s another edition of “Katie tries to make her hair as voluminous as possible!” Today, as part of this unofficial series, I am testing out the @bumbleandbumble Surf Foam Spray Blow Dry ($31 for 4 ounces – https://rstyle.me/+YyBZpR3erzH3lfXBl5jT5g).
What it claims:

My experience:
🔘 I have used this on three (3) occasions and all of those instances on damp hair.
👎🏻 The first time I used this, I used very little because the instructions tell you that a little goes a long way. Unfortunately, a little went nowhere for me.
👍🏻👎🏻 The second and third times I used this, I applied a lot more than the first time. The first time, it didn’t make my damp hair feel any different. The second and third times, it definitely felt like I had put something in to make my hair more volumized and textured because it felt a bit stringy and stiff.
👎🏻 When a product makes my hair feel like that, I normally get excited because I think it means it’s going to result in volume and hold. Unfortunately, all it did was tangle up the ends of my hair, making it difficult to blow dry.
👍🏻👎🏻 My hair felt silky and smooth after blow drying. Normally that would be a good thing, but not when I was hoping for added volume and texture.
My verdict?
This product has an average of 4.4 stars on @ultabeauty’s website and I’m just not sure I would rate it any higher than 3 stars. Did it add volume to my hair? Sure, but not the most I’ve ever experienced. Did it add beachy texture to my hair? Not that I can tell. So, while this obviously works well for many other people, I would consider it a fail for my hair. I’ll be passing this along to someone who can hopefully find use for it!
