I don’t know about you, but something highly hyped up with the word “Airbrush” in the title automatically gets my attention! I had been contemplating this purchase for many months, but finally decided to take the plunge and purchase the @ctilburymakeup Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder ($45 for .28 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bjUMj) during the most recent @sephora sale!
What it claims:
🔘 This breathable, micro-fine powder technology gives you an immaculate complexion that acts like a luxe, micro-fine cashmere veil on top of your skin for a bright, perfecting finish
🔘 This product doesn’t cake or sit in lines
🔘 Rose wax and almond oil hydrate the skin throughout the day and enable the powder to blend on flawlessly, while reducing shine
🔘 Nourishing actives work to soothe and restore skin, while light-reflecting ingredients diffuse light as it hits your face for a luminous complexion and even finish all day
🔘 It’s perfect if you suffer from an oily T-zone or complexion, or if you want a flawless retouched finish to your makeup
My experience:
🔘 It’s available in three (3) shades and I purchased 1 Fair (the other two (2) shades are 2 Medium and 3 Dark).
🔘 On separate occasions, I have used this to set only my under eyes, only my t-zone and lightly my entire face.
👍🏻👎🏻 I have used this to set under my eyes with both a brush and a very lightly damp beauty sponge. Oddly enough, using a brush, it appears to darken my concealer. With a sponge, it helps to brighten it.
👍🏻 This makes my under eyes look smooth all day long.
👎🏻 This does nothing for keeping me matte in my t-zone, so I no longer use it on a consistent basis for that purpose.
👍🏻👎🏻 I don’t normally set my entire face with powder, so, while it looked nice, I wouldn’t use this product for that.
My verdict?
I have tried a lot of pressed powders in my makeup loving history and, to be honest, for me, there is nothing that makes this powder special enough to warrant the incredibly high price tag. Will I enjoy my time with it while I use it up? Sure. Will I repurchase? Nope.
FYI, I receive a small commission when you shop via the link listed above.
