Worth the Hype Wednesday – @hudabeauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder

May 27, 2020

As someone who is oily, I live for a good loose powder. When deciding which one to try next, I wanted to go with a brand I hadn’t tried much from, so I chose the @hudabeauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder ($34 for .71 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bh45U)!

What it claims:

🔘 An easy-to-use loose powder, perfectly curated for all skin tones to create an airbrushed, long-lasting complexion, blur the appearance of pores and fine lines, and hold makeup in place all day long

🔘 Inspired by Huda’s strong belief that the technique of baking is a key step to creating a flawless finish, while also ensuring long-lasting, melt-proof makeup

🔘 Easy to use thanks to its unique powder net, which disperses a controlled amount of powder

🔘 8 shades are packed with ultra-refined pigments to ensure the right fit for all skin tones

🔘 This formula contains vitamin E and is noncomedogenic

🔘 It is long-lasting and fade-proof for up to 10 hours with excellent coverage and no flashback in photos

My experience:

🔘 I purchased shade Pound Cake.

🔘 I have used this packed under my eyes and in my t-zone on multiple occasions.

👎🏻 I have an oily t-zone and very few powders can keep that oil at bay. Unfortunately, this was not one of them.

👍🏻 Even though it didn’t keep me as oil-free as I would like, it did blur and smooth out my skin.

👍🏻 It looked flawless under my eyes – not at all drying or cakey. It also looked that way all day long.

👍🏻👎🏻 What I wasn’t able to test was the actual baking function. Although I enjoy the packaging because you can get powder out without getting it everywhere, it’s not enough powder to bake with.

My verdict?

I’m on the fence with this product. The color is perfect for my skin tone, it looks fantastic under my eyes, it’s blurring and lasts all day. However, it is expensive in comparison to others and doesn’t keep me as matte as I like. I will definitely keep using this until it’s gone and I will have to decide at a later date whether I’ll repurchase.

Have you tried this powder? If you have, what was your experience?
