Over the last several months, I have tried to make a more conscious effort to live a healthier life and thought it would be an interesting experiment to see how well my body would react to natural deodorant. I would say that I feel like I sweat more than average and try and get my required physical activity in every day, so I knew I would really be putting to the test the @farmacybeauty Freshen Up All-Natural Deodorant ($15 for 1.7 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bhp6O) that I received in a giveaway!
What it claims:
🔘 This aluminum-free deodorant provides a triple detox
🔘 Clay and other natural ingredients stop toxic buildup, help keep odor in check, and draw out impurities to help absorb sweat
🔘 The cooling formula glides on clear and helps brighten the underarm area
🔘 This product is non-toxic, vegan, and is aluminum- and baking soda-free
🔘 Note that if you’re transitioning from a traditional anti-perspirant/deodorant, your body may go through a brief transition period
🔘 I have been using this day and night for three (3) days.
👍🏻 The packaging is nice. I like how securely the cap attaches – very travel friendly.
👍🏻👎🏻 It feels cooling and wet. I don’t mind the cooling (even though sometimes it can feel a little like Icy Hot), but I could do without my armpits feeling so damp.
👍🏻👎🏻 The scent is really pleasant, so I had high hopes that it would combat body odor. In the beginning, it did. However, as the day went along, it had dissipated into nearly nothing.
A reviewer on @sephora’s website said “…it works moderately OK if you’re not stressed and maybe if you have an office job or stay home.” I would have to agree. It worked well enough when I wasn’t moving, but as soon as I did any of my normal daily tasks, it started to misbehave.
I need to know. If you use natural deodorant and have gone through the detox process, what is one you love and what steps do I need to take to ensure the transition goes as well as possible?
