You would think that, since I went into my last @annasuicosmetics_us review (3/20) with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised, I would go into the review of their Protective BB Cream ($28 for .88 ounces – https://bit.ly/2KLWbfH) with optimism, but I didn’t. Let’s see if I was wrong again!
What it claims:
🔘 Velvety smooth signature powder is mixed in a water based cream for semi-matte, glassy perfection
🔘 Once applied, the watery cream evaporates, leaving Smooth Powder on the skin
🔘 The result is a no-powder-necessary, soft focus finish that replaces your liquid foundation and face powder routine
🔘 Pore Focus Gel zeroes in on pores to fill and blur
🔘 Long-lasting formula spreads evenly and easily
👎🏻 The shade “range” is terrible. There are only two (2) and they are Light Beige and Medium Beige.
👍🏻👎🏻 I got a sample of Light Beige. While it looked too light on my skin initially, once blended out and all of my other products were applied on top, it worked well enough.
👍🏻👎🏻 The scent is strong and lasts longer than I would like. Somewhat positively, it is on the pleasant side.
👍🏻 It provided me much more coverage than I was expecting. I would say medium that could be built up to high medium.
👍🏻 It applied really nicely and evenly and worked well with all of my other products.
👍🏻👎🏻 The claim of “glassy perfection” makes me think dewy, but this definitely isn’t dewy. It does, however, like it claims, give a powder finish after it has dried down.
👍🏻 I wore it for over nine (9) hours and it never got oily on me. It remained matte.
👎🏻 Unfortunately, it settled into my forehead lines right after application and stayed that way. It also wore off on the sides of my nose and caked in my chin crease. It looked so bad that I had to take it off early.
There are so many things about this BB cream that I like – how it blended out, the coverage, the mattifying nature. Nonetheless, the things I didn’t like negated the pros – poor shade range, drying in areas, not long lasting. Maybe if you had super oily skin with zero wrinkles, you’d love this. That isn’t me, so I won’t be purchasing the full size.
