Nothing like a good high-end lip product sample to help me save money these days! Today. I am testing out the @narsissist Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama ($27 for .086 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bfj9a).
What it claims:
๐ A cult-favorite, matte lip pencil that delivers the impact of a matte lipstick with the convenience of a pencil
๐ Saturate lips with rich, vivid pigments and a velvety-matte finish
๐ This non-drying, long-lasting formula is enriched with vitamin E and emollients for a creamy texture
๐ The versatile pencil can be paired with other lip products for added dimension, or used as a tinted base
My experience:
๐๐ป I love the applicator. I makes it very easy to precisely line and then fill in.
๐๐ป The texture is nice. Creamy enough, but not to the point of making it so the product bleeds outside of my lip line.
๐๐ป It did make my lips feel more hydrated than if I were wearing nothing.
๐๐ป I don’t love the shade on me. Which is no fault of the product, I just don’t think tones like this are flattering with my coloring.
๐๐ป It lasted a solid few hours and the wear down was good.
My verdict?
While there is really nothing glaringly wrong with this product, I’m not wowed – and I should be for the price. The consistency is good, the pigmentation is good, the lasting power is good, but nothing is great.
