Try Out Tuesday – @Aquage Uplifting Foam

April 7, 2020

It may come as a surprise to many, but I would take a good hair day over a good makeup day any day of the week and it can’t be a good hair day, in my opinion, without oodles of volume! Today, I’m testing out @aquagehaircare’s Uplifting Foam ($14 for 8 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bfj59) to see if it can give me everything I want in a volumizer and then some!

What it claims:

🔘 Weightless styling foam that may be applied to wet or dry hair

🔘 Unique pinpoint delivery concentrates foam at the root for maximum lift off the scalp

🔘 Provides lasting style retention and volume without stiffness or flaking

My experience:

🔘 I have used this on two separate occasions – using an amount I would normally use for a volumizing foam the first time and about double that amount the second time.

🔘 I have only used this on damp hair, not dry.

👍🏻👎🏻 I don’t mind the nozzle. It makes it very easy to be precise in where you place it, but I also don’t mind when a product like this is less exact because then it takes less time to apply.

👍🏻 The scent is light and pleasant.

👍🏻 Some volumizing foams I’ve used make it difficult to brush out once applied. This kept my hair feeling manageable throughout the entire blow drying process.

👍🏻👎🏻 Using the amount of a product like this I normally would left me feeling quite disappointed in its performance. Adding twice as much made it so I actually felt like I put something slightly volumizing in my hair.

My verdict?

While I don’t entire dislike this product, there are several in its same category that I prefer much more. The spray is unique, it smells nice and does an OK job of volumizing, but those features aren’t enough for me to want to purchase a full size.
