I had been eyeing the @coverfx Mattifying Booster Drops ($45 for 1 ounce – https://shopstyle.it/l/bep4g) for months, so when they went on sale during one of @ultabeauty’s big sales, I knew I needed to pick it up!
What it claims:
🔘 Provides an instant matte finish and extended shine control
🔘 The weightless, skin-loving serum absorbs surface oil and visibly blurs pores for a flawless matte look
🔘 Powered by French pink clay to control shine and tea tree oil to boost complexion clarity
🔘 Use alone, before or after makeup, or mixed with your favorite products
🔘 Ideal for combination and oily skin
My experience:
🔘 I mixed three (3) drops into one of my most hydrating foundations and they blended together very easily.
👍🏻 The foundation applied with ease – just as it always does.
👍🏻 All products, both cream and powder, blended out nicely on top.
🔘 I normally apply a heavy amount of loose mattifying powder to my t-zone, but I went in with a light hand today to see how effective the drops could be almost on their own.
👍🏻 Seven (7) hours into wear and I haven’t had to blot once. My foundation has looked like a satin matte finish the entire time and that’s what I prefer.
👍🏻 Even though I didn’t need to, I used a sponge to dab a little bit of the product on my nose to see how it would perform on top of makeup. Much to my surprise, it didn’t disrupt anything and added a more matte look.
My verdict?
I am very excited to continue to use this product! Not only is it effective, but it’s versatile! In the summer, I can see myself using it all three (3) ways (under, in and over foundation) and in the winter, just one (1) of those ways. It is on the pricey side, but since you need so little, it will last a long time. Plus, can you really put a price tag on less oily skin?!
