Years and years ago, I would achieve a healthy glow by unhealthily laying in tanning beds. Now, I achieve a somewhat similar look through makeup and that’s why I always get excited to try new bronzers – especially when they are super hyped up by a lot of the beauty gurus I trust! Today, I am reviewing the very pricey, highly rated @chanel.beauty Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base ($50 for 1 ounce – https://shopstyle.it/l/bd5X6)!
What it claims:
🔘 The velvety finish of this light cream-gel bronzer leaves your skin with a beautiful sun-kissed look
🔘 Wear it on its own to enhance your complexion, or for a hint of outdoors radiance, over or under your favorite foundation
🔘 Mineral waxes and powders ensure effortless application and a mattifying effect
My experience:
🔘 I have applied this with both a damp sponge and dense brush. I get the most airbrushed, blended look with the sponge and the most color payoff with the brush.
👍🏻 The shade is a bit warm upon initial application, but blended out, it works really well with skin tone.
👎🏻 Obviously, the shade range is atrocious.
👍🏻 It blends out like a dream with both a sponge and a brush. It’s even and appears airbrushed.
👍🏻 I sometimes set it with a powder bronzer, but today I didn’t and I love the look both ways.
👍🏻 It lasts all day.
My verdict?
I don’t at all regret this purchase because it’s a beautiful product. It performs well and works with how I like to do my makeup. However, I do have other cream bronzers that give me the same result for a lot less money. I will enjoy using this up, but don’t plan to repurchase.
