Have you ever purchased something while on vacation that you would likely have never purchased while at home? Well, I did just that almost a year ago while @silsetham and I were in Prague. Walking down a beautiful, shop-filled street, we came across a store called @douglas_cosmetics – a retailer I would compare to Sephora. And, while in there, I decided I needed the @diormakeup Lip Glow ($34 for .12 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bdEV1)!
What it claims:
🔘 This cult favorite color-reviver lip balm reacts to the unique chemistry of each person’s lips for a natural flush of custom color on each skin tone
🔘 Enriched with hydrating mango butter, it strikes the perfect balance between lip color and lip care
🔘 Lips look fresh, hydrated and radiant
My experience:
🔘 I purchased shade 001 Pink.
👍🏻 The packaging is beautiful.
👍🏻 It feels super hydrating on the lips. I’ve used so many balms that feel like they’re sitting on top of the lips, but this actually feels like it sinks in.
👍🏻👎🏻 The shade is beautiful – it’s just not for me because it’s too cool-toned pink. I’ve been able to make it work by layering another product on top, however.
👍🏻 It lasts longer on my lips than a lot of other lip balms I’ve tried.
My verdict?
While I still don’t think any lip balm is worth $34, I won’t deny that this is a very nice product. Aside from the color just not working with my skin tone and makeup color preferences, I would recommend it for anyone who has the money to spend and has been looking for a really nice lip color/lip balm combination.
