Foundation Friday – @itcosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte and Your Skin But Better Primer+

January 17, 2020

As a long time lover of almost everything I’ve tried from @itcosmetics, I jumped at the chance to pick up the CC+ Soul Matte Duo (This duo is no longer available. You can, however, still get the mini CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte foundation – $15.50 for .406 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bcLv1, the full-size foundation – $39.50 for 1.08 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bcLxG and the full-size Your Skin But Better Primer+ – $39 for 1 ounce – https://shopstyle.it/l/bcLxM).

What the primer claims:

🔘 Featuring all day grip technology, this makeup-gripping base hydrates and helps even the look of your skin tone

🔘 It delivers a smooth makeup application that lasts and refines the look of pores with continued use

What the foundation claims:

🔘 Delivers all the benefits of your best-selling, original CC+ Cream with a matte finish that lasts

🔘 Infused with charcoal to detoxify, colloidal clay to absorb oil, and tea tree extract to combat blemishes

🔘 Clinically tested to reduce shine and control oil for up to 12 hours

My experience:

🔘 I applied my normal primers on the right side of my face and the Primer+ on the left side of my face.

🔘 I purchased the shade “Light.”

👍🏻 The Primer+ felt nice and hydrating and the CC+ Cream blended out nicely over top of both sides of my face with a damp beauty sponge.

👍🏻 I got medium coverage with the first layer and was able to build it up to low full coverage.

👍🏻 Nearly seven (7) hours in, my skin looks absolutely flawless. Nothing was sinking into fine lines, my pores were blurred and I was matte, but not dry.

My verdict?

I absolutely love the way my skin looks while using the original CC+ Cream, but because it was so hydrating, it would get quite oily on my skin. Thank goodness this foundation is just as beautiful, but it’s matte! It longer on my skin and worked well with both primers so I can absolutely see myself purchasing the full-size in the near future. As for the primer, it worked as well as my normal primers, so if you’re in the market for a primer, I would recommend this.
