Thursday Thoughts – @bareMinerals Lashtopia Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara

January 9, 2020

Another mascara review?! Why yes, it is – thanks to another @ultabeauty sample! This time it’s the @bareminerals Lashtopia Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara ($19 for .4 ounces –!

What it claims:

🔘 Provides up to 10 x lash volume

🔘 Lifts and separates for fanned out fullness

🔘 Formulated with nourishing minerals and lash-loving moisturizing ingredients so that lashes remain soft and plush, not stiff or brittle

🔘 Intense, deep black mineral pigments provide maximum impact and all day wear- smudge, clump and flake-resistant

🔘 The large brush features 600+ soft and staggered bristles that catch and evenly coat each lash

🔘 Ophthalmologist tested – safe for contact lens wearers

🔘 Paraben-free, sulfate-free, fragrance-free and talc-free

My experience:

🔘 Photo four (4) has one (1) coat on my right eye, photo five (5) has two (2) coats on my right eye and photo six (6) has two (2) coats on both eyes.

👍🏻 It absolutely gave me fullness and lash separation – requirements for me in a good mascara.

👍🏻 I don’t agree with the claim that it doesn’t make your lashes stiff, but I’m actually OK with that because I prefer they feel like there’s hairspray holding them in place – I feel more confident in the impact lasting that way.

👍🏻 I have worn this for multiple days now and never experienced flaking or smudging at any point (even after workouts) – which is almost unheard of for me.

My verdict?

Honestly, since I had been having such great luck testing out mascaras lately, I assumed sometime soon I would find a dud. While I still may, this isn’t that time! I am super impressed with the length, volume and curl this gave me! Plus, it didn’t smudge or flake one bit and I wore it for over twelve (12) hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!
