Worth the Hype Wednesday – @HotToolsPro Black Gold Charcoal Infused One-Step Blowout

I am not sure I have ever seen a hair tool as highly-rated as the @hottoolspro Black Gold Charcoal Infused One-Step Blowout ($79.99 at @ultabeauty – https://shopstyle.it/l/bb3Eh), so of course I had to pick it up and see if the 257 reviewers that gave it, on average 4.8 stars on @ultabeauty’s website, were right!

What it claims:

🔘 The unique shape creates lift at the root, and crafts curled ends and consistently gorgeous results with every use

🔘 Unique airflow vents aid faster styling by providing efficient drying contact

🔘 Consistent, even heat helps reduce over-styling damage and help keep hair looking healthy with a smooth, shiny finish

My experience:

🔘 I applied a smoothing cream, heat protectant and volumizer to my hair before both times I’ve used this.

🔘 I separated my hair into three (3) sections.

👍🏻👎🏻 While yes, you can get volume if you have it right up against your head. However, it is occasionally too hot to keep it there for long.

👍🏻 The style you see in the photo is using this hair tool only – no straightener. I love that it didn’t deflate my hair like a straightener does.

👍🏻 I absolutely agree that it adds shine to the hair.

👍🏻👎🏻 As you can see in photo five (5), quite a bit of hair has come off in just the two (2) uses. I heard online that this was a drawback, so I may not use it every time I blow dry my hair.

👍🏻 If I add up the time if takes to blow dry my hair completely and straighten it, this reduced it by a noticeable amount – even though, near the end, my wrist was super tired.

My verdict?

I am pretty dang impressed by the performance of this product! It reduced my styling time and added volume and shine – what more could you ask for?! The only drawbacks are the heat and possible hair breakage (I can’t be sure if I’m pulling it out or if it was going to fall out anyway) and I can look past those for the benefits!
