I have tried many tinted brow gels over the years in hopes that it would decrease the amount of time it took me to fill in my brows. Unfortunately, none have ever worked, so I was very close to writing them off completely. But then, I got a sample of the @anastasiabeverlyhills DIPBROW Gel ($18 for .155 ounces or $9 for .078 ounces at @sephora – https://shopstyle.it/l/bbWFX) and I knew I had to give tinted brow gels another try because @anastasiabeverlyhills normally knocks brow products out of the park!
What it claims:
🔘 A highly-pigmented brow gel with a long-lasting, waterproof formula for creating fuller-looking, defined brows
🔘 The unique applicator allows color to be applied directly onto the brow hairs, as well as the skin, for a natural-looking finish
🔘 Available in 11 shades
My experience:
🔘 I got a sample of the shade Medium Brown.
🔘 I filled in my brows like normal with a brow pencil, but didn’t set them with a clear brow gel – like I normally do.
👍🏻👎🏻 As long as the brush is the same on the sample I have as it is on the mini and full-size, I would say I like it. I don’t love it, as I still think it’s a bit on the large side for the size of my brows, but it isn’t the worst one I’ve ever tried.
🔘 The color is too dark for the shade of hair I have currently, but that isn’t the product’s fault. If I had darker hair, I would really like it.
👎🏻 I like a strong hold brow gel and this definitely isn’t that. It felt more like I was applying dry fibers than a gel.
My verdict?
I don’t hate this product, I just don’t love it. It adds color and fullness, but no hold and was slightly messy to apply because of the mildly too large brush size (which is my ongoing pet peeve of tinted brow gels). I have a few clear brow gels I really love, so this won’t replace those.
Do you use a tinted brow gel? Is there one that’s so great I absolutely need to test it out?
