Worth the Hype Wednesday – @elfcosmetics 16hr Camo Concealer

September 4, 2019

When I hear, from multiple trusted sources, that there is a dupe for one of my favorite concealers that’s nearly 80% less costly, it’s something I know I need to try! That’s why, today, I am testing out the @elfcosmetics 16hr Camo Concealer ($6 for .2 ounces at @ultabeauty –

What it claims:
๐Ÿ”˜ @elfcosmeticsโ€™ most full-coverage, long-wear formula ever
๐Ÿ”˜ Camouflage those pesky spots and under-eye circles with this high-coverage, crease resistant, 16-hour wear camo concealer
๐Ÿ”˜ Creamy dreamy formula glides on to help conceal dark circles and blemishes and can also be used to highlight and contour the face

My experience:
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป I purchased shade Light Beige (light with golden beige undertone) and I think it works really well for my skin tone.
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป I applied it at 6am, so it has now been on for nearly five (5) hours and looks just as good as it did after initial application.
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป It isnโ€™t creaseless (I donโ€™t think any concealer truly is), but it didnโ€™t crease much at all on my under eyes.
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป While the price is great, it is important to note that it has .13 ounces less than my current higher end go-to. It is still more affordable, but always check quantity before price. You could think you’re saving money when, in fact, the price per ounce may be less with the more expensive choice.
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป It blended out easily and worked seamlessly with my foundation and powder.
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป This is a high coverage concealer, as it claims, so a little goes a long way. I used too much, but it still never got cakey or heavy looking.

My verdict?
This is an excellent concealer and I actually agree that it’s a dupe for Tarte’s Shape Tape (there, I said it)! It looks beautiful on the skin, covers extremely well and has great staying power. Plus, it’s super affordable! I will absolutely be repurchasing when I use it up.

Have you tried this hyped-up concealer? If yes, what was your experience?
