When it comes to hair products, I am not sure I’ve ever heard of anything more hyped up that @oribe. However, I was never willing to test whether the hype was worth it or not because they were way too extravagantly priced for the amount of uses I would have gotten out of them. But then, during the @nordstrom sale, I noticed they were offering a Full Size Styling Set, featuring their Dry Texturizing Spray (8.5 ounces) and Gold Lust Dry Shampoo (6 ounces) for only $61 (a $92 value). So, because I was so darn curious, I put the set in my cart and eagerly awaited their delivery! Today, I am reviewing the Gold Lust Dry Shampoo ($46 on @amazon – https://amzn.to/2yJqHRa) and will review the Dry Texturizing Spray ($46 on @amazon – https://amzn.to/2YtBa2A) in the near future.
What it claims:
🔘 Absorbs product buildup, oil and impurities with translucent powders while soothing your scalp and restoring strength and softness, and it won’t add texture, grip or weight to hair
🔘 Fragrance-retention technology means its signature scent stays with you all day
🔘 Paraben-free; sulfate-free; sodium chloride-free; gluten-free; cruelty-free and vegan
My experience:
🔘 I have used it on three (3) separate occasions with varying levels of hair greasiness each time.
👍🏻 It smells pleasant, but not strong and I agree with their claim of it lasting all day.
👍🏻👎🏻 Since it’s clear, I couldn’t tell if I had put too much or not enough in each spot, but I definitely feel as though I used more than enough overall every time.
👍🏻 It didn’t dry out my hair or scalp.
👎🏻 Although my hair experienced a slight refreshed appearance immediately after application, it took only a couple of hours for it to return to its unwashed look and feel.
My verdict?
For me, this product was not at all worth the hype. Even if I had purchased this at a quarter of the price, I still wouldn’t repurchase because it just doesn’t work. Having a nice scent and beautiful packaging just isn’t enough for me. So, I will use this up, recycle the can and repurchase, like always, my holy grail @igkhair First Class Dry Shampoo ($27 for 6.3 ounces – https://igkhair.sjv.io/OZa5N) instead.
