Since summertime seems to bring out the cream product lover in me, I jumped at the chance to pick up the constantly sold out @milkmakeup Matte Bronzer in Baked ($24 for 1 ounce at @sephora – https://shopstyle.it/l/6FIJ) when I received my $100 @sephora gift card for cashing in points!
What it claims:
🔘 A sunkissed bronze in a stick
🔘 Swipe on this creamy, lightweight, matte formula for an instant, all-over warmth, or swipe and sculpt strategically to contour
🔘 Mango butter and avocado oil combine with MILK MAKEUP’s Milk Melt Technology to instantly absorb into skin, blending quickly and easily while simultaneously nourishing
🔘 Cruelty-free, paraben-free, vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and talc-free
🔘 Comes in two shades: neutral bronze (Baked) and deep bronze (Blaze)
My experience:
👍🏻👎🏻 Compared to the other bronzer/contour sticks I’ve tried, this is a very large. However, for me, that’s a positive because I mostly bronze with products like this and it allows me to cover a lot of space in a small amount of time. If you want to contour only, this may not work for you.
👍🏻 It blends out easily (see photos 5 and 6 where it’s blended out on my hand) – which I did with a damp beauty sponge.
👍🏻👎🏻 The color is light once blended out and that’s saying a lot because I’m decently fair-skinned. I had to use more product to get the same look I get from other ones I’ve tried.
🔘 In a perfect world, they would add a second shade and that’s the one I would want to use because I love to fake a good face tan.
👍🏻 The tone is perfect for my skin – not overly warm like a lot of products like this can pull.
👍🏻 I have been wearing it for seven (7) hours so far and have experienced no fading.
My verdict?
I like this product a lot, I just don’t know if I love it yet. It’s blendability, tone and value are excellent, but I just wish it was a little darker so that I didn’t have to use so much. However, it may be the exact shade I need in the winter. I’ll update in a future post as to whether it became a favorite or not.
Are you someone that bronzes and contours? Just bronzes? Does neither?
