Sunscreen Sunday – @supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

July 14, 2019

I was pretty excited when I received the @supergoop Unseen Sunscreen ($32 for 1.7 ounces @sephora – https://shopstyle.it/l/5NCt) from @fohr.co because I had heard nothing but positive reviews for it! Plus, the more educated I become regarding skincare, the more I realize sun protection is of the utmost importance.
What it claims:
🔘 A totally invisible, weightless, scentless, makeup-gripping, daily primer with SPF 40
🔘 Innovative, antioxidant-rich SPF primer preps skin for makeup while providing broad spectrum SPF 40 and protection from blue light, the light emitted from our phones and computers
🔘 Unique oil-free formula glides onto skin providing shine control and leaving a velvety, makeup-gripping finish
🔘 A 2018 Allure Best of Beauty award winner
🔘 Vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free
My experience:
👍🏻👎🏻 I really enjoy the look of the packaging, but wish it weren’t plastic.
👍🏻 The fact that it contains SPF 40 is superb.
👍🏻 It is fragrance-free, which is, from what I have learned recently, the only way skincare should be. Fragrance can be irritating to the skin, so it’s best if it’s left out. It has never affected my skin, but I would rather a product work best for the masses than smell like flowers.
👍🏻I absolutely agree with its claim of having a velvety finish – my skin feels so smooth after application.
👍🏻👎🏻 It isn’t hydrating, so if you have dry or combination skin, I suggest you still use a moisturizer underneath.
👍🏻👎🏻 Even though it makes my skin feel smooth, I don’t notice much pore-filling.
👍🏻👎🏻 While makeup smooths nicely on top of the product, I don’t notice any additional wear time in my foundation.
My verdict?
I realize that this is a pricey product, but if you have been struggling to incorporate sunscreen into your daily makeup routine, using this as your primer (which it does just fine as) may be the answer you’ve been looking for.
If you’ve tried any, what is your favorite @supergoop product?
