It’s safe to say that, when @nikirobisonbrows gifted me this @oribe Lip Lust Creme Lipstick in The Red ($42 on their website), I was in awe of how beautiful the packaging was and I absolutely couldn’t wait to test it out!
What it claims:
π Our signature lipstick delivers luminous color in a satin finish
π Ultra-comfortable formula glides onto lips for a silky, indulgent feel
π An infusion of White Lily and Myrrh moisturizes, protects and visibly plumps lips
My experience:
ππ» The color is stunning.
ππ» The packaging is some of the best I’ve seen.
ππ» It’s difficult to apply precisely. I usually never purchase dark lip colors in bullet lipstick form for that reason.
ππ» It is very comfortable and moisturizing.
ππ» It lasts longer than several other bullet lipsticks I’ve tried.
ππ» It traveled slightly out of my lip line only an hour or so after applying.
ππ» It didn’t transfer onto my teeth.
My verdict?
Let’s address the elephant in the room. This lipstick is $42. That is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. No lipstick is worth that much. Even the Chanel liquid lip I love so much is $38, but I get @ebatesshopping cash back and I earn points through @macys rewards program, so it softens the blow slightly. @oribe has neither of those value added items, so it’s an even tougher pill to swallow. I will enjoy using it up (likely with a lip liner underneath going forward), but won’t repurchase.
This is my first time trying an @oribe product. Do you have a favorite from their line that is worth the price?
