Ever since I found my holy grail way to remove makeup is with a cleansing balm, I am intrigued whenever I see one I haven’t tried yet. That intrigue normally turns into a quick purchase when the product I’m eyeing comes in a travel size so that I can try it without a substantial monetary investment. Today, and for the past couple of weeks, I have been testing out the @elemis Pro-Collagen Rose Cleansing Balm ($14 for .7 ounces and $64 for 3.7 ounces at @ultabeauty).
What it claims:
🔘 Formulated with 5 rose extracts from around the world, this soothing balm melts into a rich cleansing oil to dissolve make-up and impurities on the skin
🔘 Upon contact with water, it emulsifies to a hydrating milk that easily rinses off, creating an exceptional cleansing experience
🔘 Formulated for all skin types, including delicate and sensitive skin
🔘 Free from artificial color, parabens, SLS, SLES, DEA and mineral oil
My experience:
👍🏻👎🏻 I like rose scents, so I do like the scent of this product, but it is strong. So, if you either don’t like the scent of rose or don’t like strong scents at all, this may not be for you.
👎🏻 The price is ridiculous. My current and long time favorite is the Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm and that’s $29.50 for 3.8 ounces. Less than half the price and slightly more product.
👍🏻👎🏻 The consistency is thick, but greasy feeling. That makes my skin feel hydrated after, but during, it feels a little more heavy and oily than I would like.
👍🏻 It removes my makeup well.
My verdict?
While I am glad I tried this product, because the performance is equal to my current favorite that is much less expensive, I won’t be purchasing the full size.
Have you tried this cleansing balm? I know it’s a favorite of many, so if you are one of those people, I would love to know why!
