There are a myriad of volumizing products that you apply to damp hair and activate with a blow dryer. However, if you only wash your hair a couple of times a week (like I do), you are left with several days of lifeless hair. That’s why, whenever I am able to try one that can be applied to dry hair, I jump at the chance! Today (and several times before today), I tested out the @livingproofinc Perfect Hair Day Body Builder Body Building Hairspray ($29 for 7.3 ounces at @sephora).
What it claims:
π A body-building hairspray that creates buildable body with airiness, movement and light hold
π Powered by a customizable nozzle that adjusts the particle size and spray rate
π Formula contains a blend of flexible and firm polymers to create body with softness no matter which setting you use
π An emollient blend adds shine and anti-static agents improve the brush-ability
π Safe and formulated for color and chemically treated hair
π Cruelty-free and is formulated without parabens, phthalates and silicone
My experience:
π Each time I have used this, I place the nozzle on the “M” for “More body.” There is an option for “Less body” (“L”), but I have no interest in testing that out.
π Photo 1 is after application.
ππ»ππ» The scent is strong, but mostly pleasant. I first applied it at 8:15am and it’s now 10am and I can still smell it.
π I split my hair into three (3) sections and spray four (4) times in each.
π I washed my hair last night and I went to bed with it damp. I ran a blow dryer through it this morning and applied this after that.
ππ» It adds no crunchiness, tackiness, or stiffness to my hair.
ππ»ππ» While you can tell that it added volume, what I have found with this product is that the volume doesn’t last too long.
ππ»ππ» I haven’t noticed any reduced static or increased shine, but I also haven’t noticed the opposite of either.
My verdict?
This is a good product. The only things that would make it great for me would be a less strong scent and longer lasting volume (and I suppose a lesser price tag, if I’m being completely honest). I will use this up, but won’t be repurchasing.
