Since I had heard fairly good things about the @coverfx Shimmer Veil ($28 for .14 ounces at @beautylish), I was excited to receive the shade Soleil in my 2019 Beautylish Lucky Bag! I have tested it out on several occasions and here are my thoughts!
What it claims:
🔘 Multidimensional shimmer in a weightless creme texture for a high-impact finish on eyes, lips and beyond
🔘 Crease-proof enough for the boldest of eye looks and formulated with a weightless finish for a shimmering effect anywhere on the face
🔘 Cruelty-free and vegan
🔘 Free of gluten, mineral oil, parabens, fragrance and talc
🔘 Great for all skin types
My experience:
👍🏻 The color is beautiful.
👍🏻👎🏻 I have only used this on my eyes because when I swatched it on the back of my hand and tried to blend it out (simulating how it would work as a highlighter), it vanished and just left glitter behind. However, if that’s the look you’re going for, it might be perfect for you!
🔘 Each time I have worn it, it has been on my eyelids, on top of only a transition shade.
🔘 Yesterday, I applied it as best I could with the included applicator and moved it around with a @maccosmetics 239 brush. Today, I applied it only with the 239 brush, taking the product off of the applicator with it. I prefer the way I did it yesterday because it was quicker.
👎🏻 Since it claimed to be buildable, today, I applied two (2) coats to my right eyelid and one (1) coat to my left eyelid. Looking at my eyelids nearly six (6) hours into wear, it’s clear, in my case, it’s not buildable. It has bunched up a fair amount on my right eyelid and no longer looks smooth.
👍🏻👎🏻 It looks really nice for the first few hours, but then it begins to fade substantially from just below my crease.
My verdict?
Although this shade is beautiful and I love a couple of other products from the brand, this is a miss for me. And, for the price, I would expect it to last all day long and then some. Unfortunately, it doesn’t on me.
Do you have any Cover FX products you can’t live without?

March 7, 2019 at 2:40 pmI didn’t have the best of luck and I have combination skin. However, it has a lot of excellent reviews, so there’s a good chance it’ll work well for you. I got mine from Beautylish, but it’s also sold at Sephora.

March 8, 2019 at 10:34 amThere may be a chance that’s my problem, too. Someone suggested using a glitter glue before application, so I’ll be sure to try that and will let you know if it helps at all.
Thank you so much!!!
