Now that my skin is on the dry side, I have been quite intrigued by dewy setting mists. I found one from the drugstore that I absolutely love and will be posting about it soon, but I thought why not try a high end version to see if there is any difference in performance based on price. When I saw that @lilahbeauty had a mini version (.33 ounces) of their Aglow Face Mist for sale at @sephora for $16 (compared to 1 ounce for $48) I thought it was a perfect contrast to the affordable option that has been my go to for weeks!
What it claims:
🔘 This sheer, lightweight mist invigorates and enlivens, delivering hydration while fortifying the skin
🔘 Helps to maintain a flawless complexion, setting makeup for longer-lasting wear and brightening dullness with a refreshing, dewy glow
🔘 Knot grass extract provides firming properties and environmental defense
🔘 Dandelion extract is used to detoxify, soothe, and promote skin radiance
My experience:
👎🏻 I obviously knew how much product I was buying when I ordered it, but that still didn’t prevent me from being surprised by how little $16 got me.
👎🏻 The first thing I noticed when I sprayed it on my face to set my makeup was the scent. It isn’t good and it’s strong.
👍🏻👎🏻 It left a couple of droplets on my face because the mist isn’t super fine. However, I just used my damp beauty sponge to work them in.
👍🏻👎🏻 My face felt a little heavy, even greasy, right after. Thankfully, that feeling only lasted a couple of minutes.
👎🏻 I applied it nearly eleven (11) hours ago and my t-zone is a more oily than normal.
👎🏻 It didn’t keep my foundation from settling into my fine lines.
👎🏻 It appears my makeup is breaking up and that never happens with the combination of products I used today.
My verdict?
This product didn’t extend the lasting power of my makeup, smelled unpleasant and is too expensive for what you’re getting. If you couldn’t already tell, I won’t be repurchasing.
Do you use dewy setting sprays? If yes, which is your favorite?
Also, shoutout to @thecandytopia for the sneak preview of their new Minneapolis location today! It provided such a fun backdrop for photos!
