When @thataylaa said “There are matte foundations that work on dry skin” in her 15 Days of Foundation video from last night (if you’re not watching that series, you should be!), I crossed my fingers that the @natashadenona Transformatte Pore Vanishing Matte Foundation ($45 for .94 ounces at @sephora) that I’m testing out today would be one of those for me!
What it claims:
π Comes in 35 shades and different undertones
π Medium to full-coverage modern matte
π Blurs pores and visibly rejuvenates the skin while protecting skin from environmental damages
π Transforms the appearance of uneven skin textures, creating flawless, smooth-looking skin
My experience:
π I used shade 20Y Light (yellow undertone). It was a little too dark and yellow, but once I blended it down my neck and put on concealer, it worked well enough.
π I used a dampened beauty sponge to blend it out and it did so fairly easily. However, since it’s a matte foundation, it does dry down, so I would suggest working in small sections.
ππ» The only primer I used was the @bobbibrown Face Base because it says it makes pores vanish and I wanted to see how accurate that claim was. Surprisingly, although they didn’t disappear, they are definitely blurred to the point I noticed and was impressed.
ππ» I achieved high medium coverage right off the bat.
π I set my under eyes and the center of my face.
ππ» All of the products I applied on top of the foundation did so with ease.
ππ» I first applied it at 7am and the photo was taken over six (6) hours into wear and it still looks nearly as flawless as it did this morning.
ππ»ππ» It has very minimally settled into my nose and chin creases and forehead wrinkles.
ππ»ππ» I am the tiniest bit dewy on my nose after six (6) hours, but nowhere else and it doesn’t look greasy.
My verdict?
I was not at all expecting to like this foundation, but I do! It blurs my pores, barely sinks into my fine lines, looks natural, feels lightweight, mostly mattifies my t-zone and lasts all day! While I am not excited about the price, I think it may be worth it! Iβll try it again tomorrow to see if I still feel the same.
Have you tried this foundation?
