When the third of four waves of snow in the last couple of weeks hits your city, you stay inside, watch The Americans, do laundry and mask! Today, thanks to a gift from @jillshellum, I’m testing out the @skinesque Brightening Charcoal Mask ($7.50 for a single-use on their website).
What it claims:
🔘 Gentle Foaming Cleanser (1.5g): deeply cleanses and removes impurities for clear and bright skin
🔘 Hydra Essence (1.5g): formulated with adenosine and sodium hyaluronate to retain moisture, promotes collagen formation and reduces the appearance of fine lines
🔘 Brightening+ Charcoal Mask (1 sheet): crafted with oak tree charcoal to deeply purify and detoxify skin, while also delivering essential ingredients for brightening and hydration
🔘 Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
🔘 Reduces dark spots
🔘 Brightens dull skin
🔘 Hydrates skin
🔘 Removes toxins and impurities
🔘 Paraben-free and sulfate-free
🔘 Tip: Use in the morning before makeup application
🔘 Cruelty-free Korean skincare for the busy, modern woman
My experience:
👍🏻 I enjoyed the cleanser. The packet contained more than enough to cleanse my entire face and neck and didn’t leave my skin feeling too dry or tight.
👍🏻👎🏻 There was also enough essence to cover my entire face and neck easily, but I wasn’t wowed by this step. I am sure with ongoing use I may feel differently, but upon first impression, it’s not a life-changing product.
👍🏻👎🏻 The mask is well saturated, which is always preferred over the alternative. However, it doesn’t fit ideally and that’s a big drawback for me.
My verdict:
Although this 3-step process made my skin feel cleansed, pampered and hydrated, I don’t think it was impressive enough to repurchase – especially for the price.
What’s your favorite sheet mask? I just have yet to find one that I can’t live without and would love your recommendations!
