In the gift bag of goodies @nikirobisonbrows got me for my birthday was the @ecotools Total Perfecting Blender ($4.99 at @ultabeauty). Since I am a sponge addict (especially those that are budget-friendly), I couldn’t wait to test it out!
What it claims:
π Look and live beautifully with the unique EcoFoam Technology made of 70% plant based materials
π PETA certified, meaning they are 100% cruelty free and vegan
π Latex free
π Dermatologist tested
My experience:
π I have used it a handful of times now. Each time, I dampen it and it nearly doubles in size.
ππ» I really enjoy the texture. It is just dense enough for how I like a makeup sponge to feel.
ππ» The butt end of the sponge is larger than most I have used and I like that because it makes quicker work of blending out liquid foundations.
ππ» The flat edge is great for applying powder underneath contour and to the sides of the nose.
ππ»ππ» The flat edge isn’t great, however, for blending out concealer under the eyes because it doesn’t have a point to easily reach into the corners. I, however, was still able to manage, it just required a little more effort.
ππ» It stays a little damp throughout the day and I appreciate that because I carry my sponge with me for touch-ups and those are best done with a non-dry sponge.
My verdict?
Taking into account the price, texture and usability for most areas of the face, I would absolutely recommend this sponge. The downside of it not having a point for blending out under eye concealer is not enough for me to not consider repurchasing in the future.
What is your go-to way of applying liquid foundations?
