My love affair with dry shampoo has been a long one. It has gotten me through late nights, early mornings and overall laziness. Remembering back, it all started with the @bedheadbytigi Rockaholic Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo ($10 for 2.5 ounces or $21.99 for 6.3 ounces at @ultabeauty). I wanted to see if this product was as good as I recalled it being, so I purchased the travel size to try out…again!
What it claims:
🔘 Spray at roots to absorb excess oils, make hair smell fresh and keep it rockin’ one more night
🔘 Less frequent shampooing saves hair from heat styling damage and colour loss
🔘 Unbelievable texture is perfect for big hair or updos
🔘 Near colorless formula won’t show on your clothes or pillowcase
My experience:
🔘 I washed my hair three (3) days ago.
🔘 I applied this at night and in the morning for the last two (2) days.
👍🏻👎🏻 It is nearly colorless. That’s great for most people, but I’m not a huge fan of not being able to see where I already sprayed.
👍🏻👎🏻 The smell is nice, but it doesn’t last or make my hair smell fresher.
👎🏻 It only did a decent job at eliminating the excess oils in my hair and that feeling is temporary. It doesn’t take long for the greasiness to reappear.
My verdict?
It’s obvious to me that my dry shampoo standards have improved immensely over the years. While I can see how I was impressed with this being my first experience, I have moved onto more powerful options. I’ll use this up, but won’t be repurchasing.
What did you used to love, try again and was surprised with how you felt about it a second time around?
