Today has consisted of sleeping in, watching my niece’s basketball game, brunching at @monellompls (which was delicious!) going to the Minneapolis Boat Show, drinking at @508mpls and attending the @timberwolves game at @targetcentermn! I’m telling you that because it’s -2 degrees and we’ve frozen our butts off outside and sweat like crazy walking through the Minneapolis skyway system – which all really put the @milkmakeup Sunshine Skin Tint with SPF 30 ($42 for .7 ounces at @sephora) to the test!
What it claims:
🔘 Weightless, preservative-free liquid foundation that hydrates skin while providing buildable, natural-looking coverage and SPF 30
🔘 Infused with a blend of avocado, mandarin, grapeseed, and olive oils, it delivers ultimate nourishment and hydration that leaves skin feeling fresh and light
🔘 Vegan, cruelty-free and free of preservatives
My experience:
🔘 I used a combination of Light and Sand today. Yesterday, I used a combination of Fair and Light. Today, the color match was much better.
👎🏻 The shade range is abysmal. Only eight (8) are currently being offered.
👍🏻👎🏻 I used an @ecotools brush (which I love!) to apply it and it nearly disappeared when I blended out the first layer. However, I was able to slightly build it up in my trouble area – the redness in my cheeks.
👍🏻 It was very hydrating feeling and gave me a nice glow.
👍🏻 I have been wearing it for nearly eleven (11) hours and I’m impressed that it’s still on my face with how moisturizing it is.
👎🏻 However, because it’s so hydrating, it was sticky to the touch in some areas all day and looked more and more dewy (borderline greasy) throughout the day.
👍🏻 The upside of it being so hydrating is that it didn’t cling to any dry patches.
👍🏻 Even though the coverage was very light, it still made me feel covered enough to consider myself public ready.
My verdict?
This product has a lot of upsides. Hydrating, enough coverage for a light makeup day, SPF 30. However, where it loses me is the price. To be comfortable with the look, I needed to use quite a bit. It’s spendy and contains less product than most foundation. A great concept, but I won’t be purchasing the full size.
If you use them, what’s your favorite tinted moisturizer?
