When I woke up this morning, I turned on my favorite morning radio show, @kfan1003โs The Power Trip, only to hear that the wind chill was going to be -30 degrees today in Minneapolis. So I figured, what better day to test out a self-tanner?! Thanks to @sdockendorf gifting this to me, I tried out the @lorealmakeup Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes in Medium ($11.99 for 6 single-use towelettes at @ultabeauty).
What it claims:
๐ Applies self-tanning color quickly and easily
๐ Streak-free
๐ Quick & convenient
๐ 100% natural-looking tan
๐ Infused with Vitamin E and Alpha Hydroxy Acid to smooth and soften your skin
๐ Apply a towelette once or twice a week to maintain the color
My experience:
๐ Disclaimer: I am a self-tanner newbie. It has always intimidated me and that’s why I had never done it before last night.
๐ I exfoliated and cleansed with the @norvellsunless pH Balancing Shower Cleanser.
๐๐ป Since the towelette is white, as is the tanning component, I had no idea where I was putting it or how much I was putting on. I did two (2) thin layers on each leg.
๐๐ป I only self-tanned my legs today (because I wasn’t sure how this would go), but it was still plenty saturated, so I am guessing doing most of my body with one (1) towelette would have been no problem.
๐ I let it dry completely (about 45 minutes, just to be sure) before putting on my pajamas.
๐๐ป I didn’t see any color development before I went to bed, but I did in the morning! It was a little patchy on my feet (user error, I’m sure), but everywhere else looked really nice and even!
๐๐ป๐๐ป Although I washed my hands twice immediately after applying, I have a slight tan on some of my fingers this morning.
My verdict?
I wouldn’t say that this product has changed my mind entirely about self-tanning (I still find it daunting), but it absolutely made me think that it’s something I could definitely do on my own in a pinch (which is something I had never thought before)!
Do you self-tan? If so, what’s your favorite, fool (me)-proof product?

February 2, 2019 at 3:59 amOh I think you did good for a newbie! I am like you, so intimidated by products like this but still so curious. I am so pale so I worry about missing spots or getting way to dark. Thanks for taking the chance, I think it turned out good. I would say perfect for that special trip or night out.

February 2, 2019 at 10:34 pmThank you! I truly was impressed with how easy it was to use. I kept almost talking myself out of it, but I am glad I just took the plunge, too!
