Upon recommendation from my friend @sdockendorf, I picked up the @essie Gel Couture system ($11.50 each for the colors and the top coat at @ultabeauty) a while back for testing. And then I dropped the color onto a tile floor. Oops! I finally got the nerve up to repurchase in Front Page Worthy (a different color than I had originally because I was afraid the other was bad luck!).
What it claims:
🔘 Provides up to 14 days of color and shine in unique, couture-inspired shades
🔘 No base coat or lamp required
🔘 Easy removal
🔘 Fast dry time
My experience:
👍🏻👎🏻 It took around three (3) coats to get full opacity. However, they were thin coats in the hopes of avoiding bubbles.
👍🏻 The color is absolutely stunning! It is described as a dark royal blue with a pearl overcast.
👍🏻 I first applied it on Thursday and, as you can see, I’ve experienced zero chipping. I do have minimal wear on the tips, but barely noticeable.
👍🏻👎🏻 It dried fairly quickly, but not impressively so.
My verdict?
Even if I hated this formula, I’d keep using this polish because I love the color! Thankfully I do like the formula, so can’t wait to try other shades!
If you have tried this formula, which one should I pick up next?
